CLEAN ENVIRONMENT

Montgomery County has been a leading county in America for setting “green” building standards and promoting low-impact development practices. As your Councilwoman, I will continue expanding our legacy in promoting sustainable communities. I will fight for:

  • Green Buildings: Providing additional incentives for green building standards through the Montgomery County “Green Building” program
  • Energy Efficiency: Convert every traffic signal to LED by promoting the principles of the “Cool Counties” initiative
  • Clean Fleet: Expand the conversion of county vehicles to low-emissions vehicles
  • Green Incentives: Continue to promote clean energy rewards and renewable energy in Montgomery County
  • Open Space: Increase tree plantings and buffer areas, purchase open spaces, and encourage low-impact development practices that control and absorb run off
  • Cooperation: Forge relationships with federal and state officials to promote sustainable communities and eliminate pollution
